This autumn, switch the pumpkin spice for this deliciously sweet and buttery Diwali dessert with cardamom and pistachios. Warm, comforting, and perfect for sharing, trust us – it will turn you into everyone’s favourite host
Serves 4 people Ingredients: 500g grated carrots 50g ghee 150g sweetened condensed milk 5 cardamom pods Handful of raisins Handful of crushed cashew nuts Handful of blanched pistachios
Instructions: Heat the ghee over medium heat in a saucepan Add the crushed cardamom and grated carrots, then cook until they become tender Add the condensed milk, raisins and crushed cashew nuts. Let it simmer for another 5 to 10 minutes on low heat Turn off the heat, let it cool for a few minutes, and garnish with pistachios before serving.
Halwa is best enjoyed warm for an explosion of flavour!
