Okay, listen. I'm not going to state statistics, or even try to make conversation about the mayhem outside. We all know things will get worse before they get better, and we are all currently experiencing feelings of worry, ranging somewhere from low-key anxiety to "Oh my god, what Black Mirror episode am I in the middle of?!"
Pause. Deep breath. Relax your muscles. And PLEASE stop chewing on your thumbnail.
What I'll do instead, is recommend a medicine, mankind has relied on, for several bygone years. While modern medical progress has paved the way for new-found cures, diagnostic tools and treatment equipment, there's one thing that no pill can parallel, when it comes to healing a troubled mind.
And that is, some uncontrollable, hearty, and hysterical laughter. So, here's a list of 5 rib-tickling books, that will, for sure, leave you giggling, snickering, snorting, chuckling, or straight-up roaring.
1. Carry On, Jeeves by P.G. Wodehouse

In the world of books, Wodehouse is perhaps the quickest route to happiness. One of his most celebrated collections, Carry On Jeeves, is full of the delightful anecdotes of Bertie, and his coconut-head valet, Jeeves. I know this book mostly gets filed under "Chick-Lit", but believe me when I say there's some Grade-A humour between those pages. You'll find yourself relating to Bridget almost instantly, as she wakes up every. single. day, with a new mission to transform her life and without fail, gives up by the time its afternoon. Bridget Jones shows us how you can bump your way through your thirties, with an incorrigible and often inappropriate, sense of humour.

This is a guaranteed laugh even for the most cynical minds. Allie Brosh's side-splitting, honest, and utterly charming account of the life and its tidings, comes bearing scenes and monologues that leave you in guffaws, along with crude, strange little illustrations by the author herself. Oh, and her illustration was once a famous meme!
