Right this very moment as we speak, the status of The Great Wall of China as the longest structure ever built by human beings, is becoming increasingly doubtful. What's replacing it? The mile-long human queues currently gathering in front of all the recently opened liquor shops in Indian cities. Jokes apart, it's not difficult to empathise. After all, for those of us fond of sipping on a glass of dark rum as a way of calling it a day, there couldn't be a happier piece of news to start off the week with.

Well, now that you can actually score a bottle of your favourite rum without getting into unlawful practices, it's officially time to finally celebrate your adored drink. If only bars had opened, we wouldn't be having this conversation. But since a DIY recipe is still your best shot at sipping on a tastefully done cocktail, we thought it best to give you all the information you need. If you woke up with happy tears this morning at the thought of finally drinking your favourite rum, here's a list of 5 easy to make and amazing to taste rum cocktails, other than the customary Rum 'n' Coke.

1. Dark 'n' Stormy

About The Cocktail

A high-ball cocktail with just three ingredients, a Dark 'n' Stormy tastes even better than how it sounds. Gosling's Black Seal Rum is the specific liquor that's prescribed in all traditional recipes, but really, any dark and delightfully spicy rum will do the trick just as well. FYI, the cool name came from this cocktail's origin story that can be traced back to the Caribbean sea and its bustling population of sailors.
