A legit problem for a college-going woman every day, is the outfit she is going to put together for college the next day. Waking up in the morning to attend lectures is one problem and looking good to attend that lecture is another one all together. It takes immense energy to mix-n-match everything you have in your messed up wardrobe to create the ensemble you are going to pull off that day. Owning these wardrobe essentials makes putting that outfit together much easier everyday.

1. A classic white shirt

Every girl should invest in at least one classic white shirt to pair up with blue or black jeans, on the days when she just does not feel like dressing up, yet doesn’t want to look like she just got out of bed. A white shirt could be tucked in to the jeans, tied up at the bottom or simply worn with a tank top inside.

 2. The perfect pair of jeans

On most days we wear jeans to college, and if you do not have perfectly fitted jeans to wear at least 3 out of 5 days to college, that’s definitely a bummer! Your wardrobe MUST HAVE at the least one pair of fitted jeans to give you that extra confidence and boost, needed at the start of your day. Jeans can be worn as a replacement to churidars, with kurtis as well and is the most versatile piece of clothing in everyone’s closet.

3. Leggings/ Jeggings

For the days when you want to feel comfortable yet look chic, leggings are the way to go.  They again can be worn with anything and everything, but make sure your top wear is long enough to cover the crotch area. Jeggings or “Jean – Leggings” are a great tip off to jeans, since they’re definitely more stretchy and comfortable as well.

4. Basic knit tops

Basic tops are an absolute necessity for your wardrobe during college. Don’t go overboard buying graphic tees, instead go in for solid coloured tshirts, which you can later pair up with a scarf, maybe a statement necklace, or a denim jacket for when it’s a little colder.

 5. Skirts & Shorts

On the days when you wake up a little earlier and want to go the extra mile (only because you have those extra few minutes), you could most definitely wear a pair of shorts or a skirt, only if it’s permitted by your college that is. They’re easy to style and look very fashionable as well.

6. Oversized sweaters and sweatshirts

Once winter sets in, I hate dressing up for college. The feeling of leaving the warmth of my bed and stepping out into the cold haunts me. And that’s why during the colder months, I like to wear sweatshirts and baggy sweaters to keep me cozy and warm during the day. A hoodie and leggings is my go to outfit during the winter!
