It's always been exciting to explore the unexplored. Be it traveling to new places, visiting new restaurants in the hood and capturing something in a whole new light. This listicle would come in handy when you're in Bangalore and are looking for a quick bite between meals or when hunger strikes and you crave for something tasty and filling.

1. Wok Paper Scissors

Located at the most famous corner of the JNC Street, the size of the outlet might look small but it boasts of a variety of Pan Asian delicacies. Whether one is looking for Chinese dishes, Thai specialties, the flavor of Vietnam, a slice of Malaysia, a bite of Indonesia or the taste of Singapore, Wok Paper Scissor serves it all. My favorite picks are the Tom Yum soup with its a perfect blend of flavors and veggies, Corn Cheese Wonton, the customizable Wok Box to name a few. Rendang Chicken with Jasmine rice is worth a special mention.

2. York St.

York St. is situated on the second floor in Koramangala 5th block. One needs to climb up to the second floor to the quaint café. The menu offers a multitude of options – sandwiches, burgers, pasta etc. Cappuccino mushroom soup stands out for being one of the most innovative dishes served here. Some ultimate nachos are baked with toppings. The steaks are sumptuous. The staff is polite. The décor is pleasing to the eye. The lighting is on point. This cozy café offers a few books to read and some games to play along while you munch the delicacies they serve.

3. Firangi Bake

Firangi Bake is a delivery-only outlet in Bangalore with about 33 odd branches. It serves Fusion Food at its best. It specializes in a unique combination of Mexican and Italian delicacies with an Indian twist. Lip-smacking Chicken Lasagna is out of the world with the perfect amount of cheese dripping over it. Surprisingly, it is served with Kulcha bites. It is a commendable combo indeed. Mouth-watering Quesadilla is stuffed with an exotic mix of spices and filling. Packaging is leak-proof. I thoroughly enjoyed the appetizing experience.

4. Smise

This rooftop cafe is easy to spot. An array of paintings on tiny canvases facing the potted plants catch one’s eye along the entrance. It sports both indoor and outdoor (covered) seating. Perfect Bangalore weather calls for outdoor seating on most pleasant evenings. One could pick from salads, sandwiches, burgers, rolls, pizzas, pasta, curries with grilled variants, sizzlers, desserts, beverages including smoothies, shakes, and mocktails. I picked 7 spice chicken skewer and Fish N Chips along-with thin crust pizza followed by pasta in creamy tomato sauce served with crisp garlic bread. It offers a few games and books as well. Smise’s philosophy lives up to its tagline – Eat. Drink. Smile.

The warmth that radiates from the gestures and the smiles is inspiring. The design is seamless and the idea, commendable. A switch is attached to a light above each table which sends a visual signal to a matrix board at each press of the switch. The food is delicious. Tandoori Momos is one of the most popular dishes here. Guests receive the menu, placards and a writing pad along with a pen. The placards have a list of commonly used terms at restaurants such as ‘menu’, ‘fork’, ‘bill’ printed on them.
