If I bumped into a Genie and was granted one, and only one beauty wish, fixing my constantly tired-looking eyes would be the no-brainer answer. For years I believed people (by people I mean my mother) when they'd respond to my incessant complaints of dark circles with "you just need some sleep".

But now, at the age of twenty-something, I have finally realised that if you have tired eyes all the time, a simple slumber probably won't suffice as a solution. The truth is, there are a number of causes for tired eyes, most of which go beyond just not getting enough sleep, and can fall anywhere ranging from genetics to sun exposure. So, if your eyes are constantly tired but you're not, or you're just sick of frantically googling "how to fix tired eyes" before every morning meeting, we are here to help. Read on to discover 10 highly effective remedies for tired eyes that will help relieve strain, eye puffiness, and even reduce the appearance of dark circles.

6. Apply A Hot Compress

A warm compress is a great way to relax your eye muscles, just like any other muscle in the body. It can also help tremendously with relieving dry eyes after them being exposed to a bright screen all day. Just soak a soft piece of cloth with warm water, and place it on your eyes for a couple of relaxing minutes.

7. Give Your Eyes A Tap Massage

Use your index and middle fingers to gently tap a circle around your eyes. This tapping massage can help increase blood flow around your tired eyes, promote lymph drainage of under-eye bags and alleviate dark circles.

8. Pour Some Milk

We're already familiar with the tremendous health benefits of consuming milk. But the same calcium, proteins, amino acids and lactic acids can help with fixing tired eyes, and lightening the skin around your eyes, when applied topically.
