We frequently spend hundreds of rupees on high-end beauty items just to be dissatisfied (sometimes)! The majority of drugstore items aren't worth the money or the buzz. Getting back to our origins and employing commonplace substances may sometimes work wonders for our skin. Oatmeal is one such wonderful beauty-enhancing food.

Legend has it that Cleopatra, the renowned Egyptian queen, used oatmeal face packs to cleanse and exfoliate her skin. So, if one of the most powerful queens of history approved of the advantages, we mortals might blindly follow in her footsteps. Oatmeal is wonderful for skin since it cleanses, nourishes, and repairs the skin.

Here are a few basic ways for making the ideal oatmeal face pack, and they're all handmade!

1. Oatmeal and Honey:

If your skin seems to be dry, a mixture of oatmeal and honey might help. Oatmeal acts as an occlusive agent, creating a physical barrier that inhibits epidermal water loss. Honey is a natural humectant, which means it retains moisture in your skin and keeps it smooth and supple.

How to prepare:

Ingredients:

  1. Oatmeal – 2 tbsp
  2. Honey – 1 tbsp
  3. Raw milk or water – 2 tbsp

Directions:

  • In a clean bowl, add honey, oatmeal and raw milk/water.
  • Mix it well until you achieve the desired consistency
  • Apply the paste evenly on your skin
  • Allow it to work for 10-15 minutes.
  • Rinse the product thoroughly with plain water
  • Pat dry with a clean towel

2. Oatmeal and Cucumber:

A face pack made of oatmeal and cucumber is a great treatment for sunburned skin. Cucumber provides immediate relief from inflammation and burning. Its anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant characteristics help to decrease surface damage and promote the growth of new cells. When combined with oatmeal, it promotes quicker healing and gives your skin a natural shine.

  • Allow 15 minutes for it to work
  • After it has dried, carefully wash it with cool water and pat it dry

3. Oatmeal and Curd:

Try using an oatmeal and curd face pack if you have tanned skin and open, enlarged pores. Lactic acid, found in curd and yoghurt, is a gentle exfoliator and bleaching agent. This chemical shrinks and tightens open pores as well as removing surface level pollutants and grime. Oatmeal, on the other hand, can help to lighten scars and discoloration on the skin, giving it a healthy, nourished appearance.

4. Oatmeal and Tomato:

The oatmeal and tomato face mask helps to remove excess oil from the skin while not drying it out. Tomatoes act as a natural astringent, shrinking pores and smoothing skin texture. The natural acids in this fruit may thoroughly clean your skin while also controlling excess oil secretion. Oatmeal can counteract this drying effect by keeping your skin moisturized.

An oatmeal and lemon face mask is one of the finest ways to treat an oily, acne-prone complexion. Oatmeal can absorb excess oil from your skin's surface while also fooling your cells into generating less sebum. Acne and outbreaks are also less likely to occur. Lemon is an acidic element that can help to balance the pH of your skin while also combating germs.
