Butter dosa is a popular South Indian savory pancake that is made from fermented batter and cooked on a griddle or flat pan. The batter is typically served with either chutney, masala sauce, or pickled vegetables. It's sometimes also eaten as an appetizer. It typically contains a small amount of curdled milk, which gives it its unique flavor and texture. The name "butter dosas" likely refers to the fact that the batter is often cooked in butter or ghee, two types of clarified butter.
How to make butter dosa?
The basic ingredients for making butter dosa are rice flour, salt, ghee (clarified butter), and water. To make the batter, mix the flour and salt together in a bowl until well combined. Add the ghee gradually while mixing until you have a thick but smooth mixture. Finally add just enough water to bring the mixture into a runny consistency - not too wet or too dry. Leave it at room temperature for about 80 minutes so that the the fermentation can finish. Now heat the pan, put butter on it and pour your batter into thin paper like fashion and let it cook.
