Biryani by Kilo currently operates in only two locations in Thane: Wagle Estate and Kavesar. Both are delivery-only outlets, and the service includes real-time tracking. It appeared that they had partnered with Borzo for logistics, which made the delivery smooth and reliable. Interestingly, I was first tempted to try Biryani by Kilo after noticing a delivery to my neighbor. They had ordered the non-veg platter, and seeing that sparked my curiosity. That moment eventually led me to place my own order, and I’m glad I did. Just an hour after ordering, we were enjoying one of the best dinners we’ve had in a while. We chose the Chicken Hyderabadi Dum Biryani Combo, which included half a kilogram of biryani served in a matka with four chicken pieces, half a portion of tandoori chicken (four pieces, with the option to switch to chicken 65), two 250 ml bottles of Thumbs Up, salad, and raita. The portion size of half a kilogram serves only about one and a half people, so it is best suited for small meals rather than larger gatherings. We began with the tandoori chicken. At first, it seemed a little dry upon delivery, but once paired with the mint chutney, the taste transformed into something truly delicious. The chutney was a highlight for me, it added a refreshing kick that elevated the dish. Biryani by Kilo also sent a helpful video guide on how to open the matka and mix the biryani properly to bring out the authentic dum flavor. This small touch made the experience more engaging. The biryani itself was flavorful and satisfying. The rice portion felt slightly less than expected, but the chicken pieces were plentiful. Most importantly, the chicken in the biryani was soft and cooked perfectly, which made the dish stand out. The spice level was balanced, making it enjoyable for everyone at the table. For larger gatherings, Biryani by Kilo also offers other combo options designed for bulk orders. The menu is versatile, with biryani available in vegetarian, mutton, and chicken varieties. There are other dishes to choose from as well, but the biryani is truly the highlight and a must-try. Overall, the experience was delightful, and it cost us about 881 rupees. We’ve already decided to order from them again for future gatherings and events. In fact, it was far better than our previous experience at Biryani House in Lakeshore Mall.
