Know your stay

Nestled amidst lush conifers, flaming red rhododendrons, towering oaks, and the mighty snowy Himalayan ranges, Chakrata is one of Uttarakhand's veritable treasures. Situated about 88 km from Dehradun and perched at a height of about 7,000 m above sea level, Chakrata served as the summer retreat for high-ranking officials of the East India Company during the British Raj.

Chakrata, with its Laid-back yet pleasant ambiance, offers a sweeping view of the Yamuna Valley below. For those looking for a snowy adventure, the Kharamba Peak awaits. At around 10,000 m above sea level, it is one of the highest of its kind in the area. Visitors can also partake in skiing in Chakrata's northern slopes.

This hilly town is a haven for nature lovers, wildlife photographers, and ornithologists alike, as its forests boast diverse fauna ranging from wild fowls to spotted deer and panthers. A popular tourist attraction of Chakrata is Tiger Falls. Located about five km from the town, this waterfall drops from a height of over 300 m into a rocky pool.

Itinerary

Day: 0 - Delhi to Chakrata

•  Start your trip by boarding an evening vehicle, which will take you to Chakrata after an overnight journey from Delhi.
  
  

Day: 1 - Arrive in Chakrata 

•  Early morning, reach Chakrata and check in to your hotel, followed by some relaxation.
•  After that head to one of the highest waterfalls in Uttarakhand, located at an elevation of 312 feet, and the Tiger falls.
•  In the evening, drive down to Chirmiri, a quaint plateau famous for bird-watching & offering some of the most beautiful views of the sunset.
•  Reach the hotel in the evening, relax around the bonfire, and groove to the beat of Djambey, played by your travel expert.
•  Conclude your day with a delicious dinner.
•  Stay overnight in eco-huts on twin sharing basis.

Day: 2 - Trek to Budher and Departure

•  After breakfast, embark on the first activity of the day, trek to Budher. It is famous for its ancient limestone caves.
•  After the trek, pay a visit to Chinta Haran Mahadev Temple. This popular temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva surrounded by dense trees of pine.
•  In the evening, say Goodbye to Chakrata and prepare for your back journey to Delhi.
