My dad is a high-risk person for Coronavirus -- over 60, heart patient, and diabetic. So we have to be ultra careful. He wasn't allowed to stand at the window or doors to participate in this portion of the curfew. But if there's one person who knows the value of good health professionals and caregivers, it's my dad. So this was his way of showing his appreciation for doctors and other essential service providers. He is currently not strong enough to play for too long, but what's important is that even if it was just for a couple of minutes, he registered his appreciation and gratitude for those who are at the frontlines on this global war on coronavirus.
I'll admit this -- I was skeptical about this whole Janata Curfew and clapping etc, plan. But I think I was wrong. Maybe we needed this -- a moment of connectedness and community in these trying, scary, stressful times of separation.
