“We didn’t start Iśvara as two founders – we started as two sisters who loved tea. It all began when we met a small tea farmer and had a sip that stopped us in our tracks. The flavor, the aroma, it was unlike anything we’d ever tasted. And we couldn’t believe it: this tea was grown in India, yet hardly anyone got to enjoy it. That cup changed everything.
From our dining table, we began hand-packing our first 25 gift boxes. No investors. No playbook. Just heart. That first Diwali, we sold out completely – and we realized tea could be more than a drink; it could be a memory, a shared pause in someone’s day. The next year, we shipped over 20,000 boxes. Today, Iśvara reaches 30,000+ tea lovers across India, works with 300+ corporates for gifting, and has a team of 25 crafting every small-batch blend by hand.
Then life got even busier. Our pregnancies were back-to-back. Nights of packing orders became nights of feeding babies. Meetings happened with one hand on a laptop, the other holding a tiny human. Some days, it felt impossible – balancing motherhood and building a business that was still so new. But working with my sister made it possible. When I stumbled, she caught me. When she wavered, I held her up.
The hardest days were also the most rewarding. Overstocked inventory, sleepless nights, thousands of cold calls to secure corporate orders – we learned quickly that building a brand meant showing up, every day, even when it felt like too much. And every time someone wrote, ‘Your tea helped me sleep better,’ it reminded us why we started.
Today, our Jaipur store is more than a shop. It’s a space to slow down, to sip, to breathe. From a single sip at a farmer’s home to creating blends like Mood Fixer and The Herb Basket, Iśvara has grown with us – sisters, mothers, and now custodians of a mindful tea ritual.
We began as sisters sharing tea. Today, we’re still sharing tea, still sharing a dream, only now, it’s brewed a little bigger.”
