Schools are going phone-free? No problem.
When schools across New York went phone-free, #HalfTheStory created the Phone-Free Fund that awarded 22 student leaders mini-grants to launch projects focused on reclaiming real-world connection and community at their schools. 🤝
Instead of having students document their projects with their phones, we partnered with @Polaroid to give each student a camera! This way, they can document and reflect on the process, phone-free.
We also included notebooks, markers, and stickers so students can do grant reporting…through analog scrapbooking! 📓🖍️
This fund is part of the first-of-its kind youth leadership initiative that’s more than just shaping policy, but creating a meaningful culture shift that’s rooted in fun, offline joy. ✨
