I discovered sridevi bakery in 2018.

After a sunday morning bike ride, while returning home I wanted to drink a nice chai. I saw a small bakery - in almost the basement - of the building and a large number of steps heading down to the shop. But with a huge crowd outside. So I thought the tea must be good.

I went in and was about to order the tea, when I heard the guy in the shop shout, "Gingeeeeeer."  He kept a slightly different glass on the counter compared to the normal tea glass. That looked good and I thought I should order that. So I ordered the spl ginger tea. I had to wait slightly longer for it as it's made seperately. After some time the guy shouted again, "Gingeeeeeer." I took the glass, sat on one of the steps and took the 1st sip.

Seriously, it was like a hero meeting a heroine in a hindi movie. My hair flew, eyes grew wider and I blinked twice. The hair flow was not because of a sudden air flow (wind). The chai was like an electric shock! The amount of dry ginger that each cup packs is astounding. It's strong yet tasty. Trust me, it's one of the best chai's in BTM if not Bangalore. If you like your chai's kadak, you need to have this one.

I've enjoyed taking many friends to this place and getting them a ginger tea. It's nice to see their expressions after their 1st sip :) Enough said. Go and order your cup. And while you are at it, ask them for a bun maska. (Tell them to heat it and give it to you.)

Visiting this place for the last 23-24 years, the always smiling Vasu bhai greets us. Vibrating place, Taste the same as decades earlier . First time tasted the bun-butter, bun-butter-jam in b'lore 23 years back...mostly the only one serving the same in BTM at that time.

Excellent hygienic place. Ginger tea is supposed to be good but I usually have lemon tea or coffee since I don't drink regular tea. Bakery items are always fresh and delicious.

Egg puffs and bun butter jam are crowd favourites. Two wheeler parking is easy but you need a bit of luck in the evenings to get parking for 4 wheelers.

Footpath is wide enough, people usually stand and enjoy the tea. It's more of a hangout spot than a mere bakery. I prefer this place any given day over Disney bakery.

This place is famous for ginger tea. The place was closed for renovation. Place looks much better after renovation. But the taste of ginger tea has not changed a bit. There is a huge crowd always. Nice place to have evening tea with fresh veg /egg puff. Taste is fine. Some more bakery items are also available. I can tell only 1 disadvantage if u are thinking for evening tea with any puff than it will be difficult to carry and enjoy both as they don't have any place/table to put any item. Usually People are sitting on one stairs but that is also not clean and lots of delivery guys  are moving towards 1st floor🙄. So go with your sccoty or bike to place your food items 😁

The ginger tea is good to be honest but the regular chai does not have that feeling anymore. I was disappointed last week as I always used to have tea there but now I don't as because the chai nowadays is a volcanic sugary disaster. Also, too much crowd makes me nauseated. Freshly made normal tea and ginger tea are great for most of the days, but there are some days where you can feel the taste of milk which screws up ur taste bud. Also, you will get many freshly baked confectioneries l. So if ur in btm 2nd stage then this shop is a definite go to place in the evening.

A very old and famous bakery here in BTM for ginger tea. If you are a ginger tea lover you should give this a try. Usually attracts young crowds and is frequented by BTM old timers. Prices are on the higher side. Other than tea , the rest of the bakery items are average.
