Ash Fusion Tester
The Ash fusion tester is used for determining the ash fusibility of specimen. This test was designed to simulate the ‘melting behaviour’ of coal when it is heated in contact with either a mildly reducing or an oxidizing atmosphere. It is used for study of various parameters erosion, slagging, and fouling potentials of coal inside boilers. It gives an ides of the temperatures at which the ash remained after the combustion of coal will sinter, melt, and flow. The Ash Fusion temperature is influenced by the chemical composition of the ash, and the nature of the coal.
