It consists of soft, spongy paneer (Indian cottage cheese) balls soaked in a rich and creamy saffron-flavored milk syrup. The paneer balls are made by curdling milk, kneading the chenna (curdled milk), shaping it into small balls, and then boiling them in sugar syrup until they become spongy.
