I was staying at The Orchid when I discovered this place. I had dinner here 3-4 times. It's a small place with cozy and honely atmosphere.
The place is clean, the food is yummy, and the people who run this place are gracious hosts.
I tried their chicken thali, mutton thali and veg thali. Chicken thali was the best. I can't recall what green chicken curry is called but that's what I ordered in chicken thali. The curry is made out of green chillies and it was just the right kind of hot.
Being new to Maharashtrian food, I was confused to see all kinds of rassas on my plate. The rassas have watery consistency and I didn't know how to have them with roti. Another thing to remember is that rice is served after the rotis (unlike at other places where rice is served along with everything else). I didn't know how to have rotis with the rassas. I had them like soup. Both tambde rassa and pandhra raasa were amazing! Another thing I enjoyed was the solkadhi.
The non veg thalis were around rs 250 and the veg thali with paneer cost me ~ Rs 200. I loved my meals at Assal Kolhapuri and would highly recommend this place to everyone. A great place to get introduced to Maharashtrian food.

I was staying at Orchid, and discovered this on map and went there to try, honestly I had the best Chicken thali with Tambda Pandhara rassa in long time.
Sitting arrangements can be improved.

The "Shev Bhaji" is an absolute delight—I could eat it 365 days a year without getting tired. 😁

The food quality is extra ordinary here, since the hotel started they are providing the same taste. In case of service there is happiness and satisfaction on owner and servant face while serving the food.

Very well maintained and they have given full justice to Hotels name. Taste is very good and has that Kolhapuri factor in it. You will get freshly cooked chicken and rotis are also served at runtime to it enhances overall experience. Cleanliness is there with limited seating arrangement so you may have to wait a bit to get your turn. Price is also reasonable compared to the items they are serving in thali. Overall good experience and will definitely recommend it for non veg lovers.

They serve as per the tag line gharguti, mild spicies and chillies used. In the name of kolhapuri they don't serve hot and oilly food. The food served here will not affect you later.
Tastes thecha chicken thali, chicken fry.
They don't serve mutton on Monday and Thursday.
The place is very small and gets super crowded by the lunch and dinner time. If you want to enjoy a peaceful meal then visit them for early meals.

I've teste "Chicken Fry & Tambada-Pandhara Rasaa" at 'Hotel Assal Kolhapuri' for awhile now, and was so glad that I did! The food was so delicious and the service was really great, too! “The "Chicken Fry & Tambada-Pandhara Rasaa" was so yummy and I ate the whole thing, even though it was quite heavy for one person.

If you are looking for home made food near mahalunge then this is the place you visit.
Service is fast and food quality is also good.
You can have unlimited Tambda-Pandhra which is heaven for Kolhapuri people.

Quantity is not as per menu card. I order Chapati Bhaji but given Pithale as bhaji with very low portion that my half chapati is left. Also in menu solkadhi but given tak. And when asked for solkadhi then got answer instead of solkadhi given tak. Also pickles mentioned in the menu but not given. Overall taste is good but quantity considering cost is too much lesser

I had an unfortunate experience with the service. The staff seemed uninterested and displayed a dismissive attitude, which significantly impacted my overall satisfaction. Improvements in customer service and attitude could greatly enhance the experience.
