THINK TWICE BEFORE BOOKING THIS HOTEL

I had a bad experience today at Hotel Raj before reaching the property. I had a booking for 4 pax on December 29-30, made a month ago with the "PAY AT THE PROPERTY" option.

Today, I called to ask if I could add an extra bed since one person has been added to our group. The receptionist told me that it wouldn't be possible and that we would have to book another room. I then said, "If that's the case, please proceed." From their side, they responded that they would confirm and let me know via WhatsApp.
Then, a little later, they messaged me saying they wouldn't be able to provide a room for 5 people and that my confirmed room had been canceled without any prior information! When I inquired how my confirmed room could be canceled, they informed me it was cancelled from booking.com's side . The receptionist seemed confused and couldn't explain clearly. When I asked to speak to the manager, I was told the manager wasn't available. When I insisted on understanding how my confirmed room could be canceled without notice just a day before, he  transferred my call  to the manager  and told me manager was on the line but he wouldn’t listen to my side of the story. Despite my repeated attempts to get my point across, he shouted at me, saying it would be like this if I hadn't paid upfront, and then cut the call on me.
Given the behavior of the staff and the manager at this hotel, I realized that this situation could have escalated if it hadn't been resolved. To anyone considering booking this hotel, I would advise:

PLEASE THINK TWICE BEFORE BOOKING THIS HOTEL.

As per qualities in there rooms plus service price is justified I have booked a 1250 Standard King Size Bedroom excellent cleanliness and behaviour too my all family members are enjoyed staying in this Hotel love to visit again

The rooms price are very high and no benefits are given after paying soo much even they don't provide a proper water bottle after paying soo much I will prefer not to go there because there are many hotel in the same price and more benefits

Since 1990 I am coming at this Hotel at that time the owner was good and now also his grand son maintaining his Hotel with so much dedication towards guest I am I am impress this type of services and care make me remind late 1990 totally satisfied with there service and on time responding staff

Reached here with makemytrip booking, upon arrival the room was booked for someone else, waited for 3hr and fougth with MMT people after which they agreed for refund, worst experience ever in my entire life of hotel booking..

Being a non AC single bed room, price for staying per night is bit high. Price should be low in respect to the room quality and amenities.

Went to Siliguri for some work it was quite good stay. Staffs were Good Overall it was pleasant stay.

Warm welcome of the manager and friendly behaviour of the housekeeping staff just made my day at the Hotel.

I have been coming to this hotel since 2010 whenever I get work in Siliguri. I always prefer this hotel because it gives me home vibes, and the front desk manager is so well trained. From 2010 to 2023, lots of things have changed.

At that time, I used to pay 300 RS, but now I pay 665 RS. Well, that's not a big deal for me because the behavior and service they provide make it all worth it.

This review is for the people who search for hotels near Siliguri junction when they come without planning. First of all, this hotel shows 825 room rates on Google but if you come without booking, they will tell you that they have only deluxe rooms which will cost you 1060. They will tell you to pay the entire amount before entering the room. Then in this deluxe room, you are not going to get room service. Forget about room service, they will not provide you with a water bottle for free. I told them to give me a water bottle at least. I will pay. The manager said I have to pay first. I have been in different hotels due to my work for the last 3 years. But they are pathetic.
