Jallianwala Bagh is a public garden in Amritsar, India, and is the site of a massacre that took place on April 13, 1919. On that day, British Indian Army soldiers under the command of Colonel Reginald Dyer opened fire on an unarmed gathering of men, women, and children, killing hundreds and wounding many more. The Jallianwala Bagh is now a memorial to those who lost their lives in the massacre.

The Wagah Border is the only road border crossing between India and Pakistan. It is located on the Grand Trunk Road between the cities of Amritsar, India, and Lahore, Pakistan. The Wagah Border ceremony is a daily military practice that the security forces of India and Pakistan have jointly followed since 1959.
