This Diwali Let's Find Out What Fire Cracker Are You?

By Trishi Dhingra

Ever wondered if your family & friends were to become firecrackers on the Diwali day, who would turn into what? It's strange enough how we all have those relatives who bring us Sonpapdi Diwali after Diwali. Don't know what's going to happen if we were to realize the extent of similarities between these fire flowers and our wildflowers.

Don't be relieved because you will be one of those cracker ending up in this list as well. So if you are ready to find out who's what we can already start lighting up this blog.

1. No Diwali Without Phuljhadis

A lot of you are already thinking about your crushes & pretty neighbours but it's not what you think. A phuljhadi is like a Mother, it is the first thing that lights up the whole D-day spirit. Every cracker-jack sack has a box of phuljhadis because, without them, it's not Diwali. How would you fire-up the other loud crackers? What would you hand your little kids, nieces & nephews which is sparkly yet safe? She (By she we mean your moms) brings the whole family together, the way phujhadis brings the whole family of crackers together.

2. Topsy-Turvy Charkharis

We all have that one cute but annoying kid in the house or in relation who just can't keep calm. In every occasion, he just revolves around the place like a freaking charkhari. As soon as he wakes up, you know he is going to be all over the earth sparkling away his mischevious laughs & tantrums like there's no one else who can be one fire. By now the image of lightened charkhari is in your head. And if you already have that picture built up, do you remember what daredevil thing you did while the charkhari was spinning crazy all over the ground? Yes! You kept jumping on it like a god damn supervillain. So next time you see that kid, try this out (not literally, just be nice to the kid).

3. Up Above The World So High

We are definitely talking about the little rockets that tend to shoot for the stars but end by bursting in our sights. This person has to be in everyone's life. Yes, the kind who just fires up to touch cloud 9 as soon as you give them a little ignition from down below. A little word of advice, if you've already complimented that human or lighted up the fire (if you know what we mean) just don't let the bottle tilt because if it does you know what's gonna happen? Fireworks in your house, which will burn everything down. #becarefull

4. And The Never-Ending Show Begins

Do you remember the cute cylindrical-shaped bomb with a wick coming out of it, looks like a candle but it is a blast. Yeah and now imagine all those dinky fellas joining together and transforming into a bomb which is going to kill the whole civilization of noise pollution. In the local language, you call it a Laddiii, you light it up & rest you can hear it in your head. Now the comparison part, this title goes to that one relative most likely to be a female who when starts blabbering about another relative just won't stop. She has that squeaky voice which stays in your ears even after she's done complaining, hence a laddiii of crackling voices.

5. Boom Goes The Dynamite

They call it dynamite, we call it the Dad bomb. Yep, we are all scared of that one bomb locally known as the Lakshmi Bomb. You bundle up all your courage, let your phuljhadi take a peck on dynamite's wick and run as if devils chasing you. You shut your ears, close your eyes and after 10 hours you hear nothing but as soon as you go near that poorly lit bomb it goes off and shakes your ground like hell. We've all been there, just as we've all been there when our Dads say absolutely nothing for like our whole life and when his timer goes-off you know you are going to die.

6. Everybody Loves The Fire-Fountain

It is the most non-violent, less noisy & joy-giving firecracker in the whole lot, just like your grandparents. Nobody is ever sad or frightened or scared of their grandpas and grandmas just like no one has closed their eyes, ears or mouth for an old Anaar bomb. They are the sparkly ones that light up our lives & Diwali like no other. And mind you this cracker-sack is incomplete without them.

7. The Atom Bombs

They aren't as scary as dynamites but you wouldn't want to piss off the atom bombs of your family. The younger ones will understand this type because we are talking about the elder siblings of the family. Sure they aren't like dads who give you spine-chilling rush inside but they will make you cry if you light up the match stick too near. They will not kill your ears but yeah they'll be mad if you do not listen to them while you are trying to handle crackers like a fool on Diwali.

8. The Little Ones

You may call it aalo bomb or phook bomb when you want to buy it but you literally disregard its existence. You finish them off even before Diwali because you neither have to set it on fire nor it causes in any smoke, just like the younger siblings. You know you don't pay attention to them but you love them much like this bollywood favourite young brother!!

9. We Are A Family

The climax of our Diwali celebration is the sky shots for which we wait the whole year to go off. And it resembles no particular person but your family, be it your dosto-wali-family, office peeps family or ghar ki family. You wait the whole year to be with them on festivals, weddings or just an off-day. For the ones living with their folks should know the value of their family because no one loves you more.
