Visited MTR in HSR Layout and had an amazing experience! The place maintains the same authentic taste and quality MTR is known for. I tried the Rava Onion Dosa, Pav Bhaji, Bonda Soup, and Badam Halwa — and every dish was spot on. The Rava Onion Dosa was perfectly crisp with just the right amount of spice and onions, while the Pav Bhaji had a rich buttery flavor that felt homely and satisfying. The Bonda Soup was light and comforting — ideal for the evening. The highlight of the meal was definitely the Badam Halwa — rich, aromatic, and served warm, it was a delightful way to end the meal. The Filter Coffee was quite strong and aromatic, a great finish to the meal for coffee lovers. The restaurant was clean and well-organized, and the service was quick despite the crowd. The staff were polite and attentive, ensuring a smooth experience. Overall, it’s a great spot to enjoy traditional South Indian flavors with a few North Indian favorites. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in or around HSR Layout!
MTR in HSR Layout serves authentic MTR-style South Indian cuisine, staying true to the classic flavours and traditional recipes the brand is known for. The food quality is consistently good and feels comforting and familiar. The service can be slow at times, especially during peak hours, but the wait is worth it once the food arrives. Everything is freshly prepared and served hot. Must-try dishes here are the poori with sagu and their dosa, both of which really stand out and capture the essence of MTR. Overall, a great place for authentic South Indian food—just go with a little patience and a big appetite. 😄
*A Breakfast Paradise: MTR in HSR Layout* I'm still swooning over my breakfast experience at MTR in HSR Layout! If you're looking for a delicious, authentic South Indian breakfast in a cozy and welcoming atmosphere, look no further! MTR is a must-visit. I ordered the Mysore Dosa, Idli Vada, and Filter Coffee, and each bite was a flavor explosion! The Mysore Dosa was crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and packed with the perfect blend of spices. The Idli was soft, spongy, and served with a variety of chutneys that added a delightful burst of flavor. The Vada was crispy and savory, with a lovely texture. But what truly elevated my experience was the prompt and courteous service staff. They were attentive, friendly, and made sure I had everything I needed. The Filter Coffee was the perfect way to round off the meal - strong, rich, and aromatic. I sipped it as I watched the world go by, feeling grateful for this little slice of heaven. What sets MTR apart is their commitment to quality and authenticity. Every dish is made with love, care, and attention to detail, ensuring that each bite is a taste sensation. If you're in HSR Layout, do make it a point to visit MTR for breakfast. Trust me, you won't be disappointed! And if you're a foodie like me, you'll be counting down the days to return and try more of their delicious offerings! Rating: 5/5 stars Will I return? Absolutely!
We were in World famous Mahvalli Tiffin Rooms aka MTR. This is a 101 year old brand which is known for it’s South Indian cuisine. This was in #koramangala Since we went early, we could find seats for all of us. What did we order? 1) Rava Idli which comes with a small cup of ghee. This is a must try. It is served with Coconut Chutney and Sambar. 2) Khara Bath - which is made with sooji rava. 3) Pooris - served with coconut chutney & Dhall 4) Masala Dosa - an ultimate one. The batter is thick yet crispy and has good amount of stuffing inside served with Sambar & Chutney. 5) Madhu Vada which as crispy and utterly tasty & finally ended up with a cup of 6) Filter Coffee The bill amount for 6 elders, 2 kids & 1 infant was around ₹2,200. If you’re looking for a proper #karnataka cuisine you know where you need to go :) #bangalore #bangalorefoodblogger
The masala dosa was too good! And enjoyed it with hot coffee… The menu is simple, no fancy varieties. Although the size of dosa can be a bit bitter 😊
Went for lunch with parents, on a Sunday afternoon. Around 15 minutes wait time, but maybe if you reach after 1pm you won't have to wait. Food was nice and authentic, worth the money. It's good but not something extra ordinary. We ordered mini meals and mini tiffin.
It is a very nice place. I love the concept of serving food in a plate. The people who serve are cheerful.food is good , south karnataka style. I prefer ordering the palte meals over Individual items . For those who don't know the cuisine must try plate meals once then second time they know their choice of items and can eat the ones they like. During peak hours wait time is long .
I resently visited MTR for breakfast. I liked the food there very much. The service and atmosphere there was also very good. Especially their service style was very good.
A typical South Indian eatery with impeccable service, super clean eating area, mouth watering food with homely taste. Just loved their food, especially the masala dosa, sambar and kesri baath.
My first time at MTR, place is maintained decently, staff took care of our orders very well. All items that we tried are good, the best item is Gadbad, my wife loved it.
