If you are craving authentic Udupi and Mangalorean flavors, this spot is a must-visit! The restaurant is neatly spread across two floors with a pleasant, welcoming ambience and impressively quick service. Must-Tries: The Malpe Rolls and Patrode are authentic and flavorful. Unique Fusion: Don't skip the Peri Peri Idli Fries—a great modern twist. Traditional Comfort: The Pundi Gatti, Coconut Milk Ganji, and the refreshing Mango Rasayana tasted exactly like a home-cooked coastal meal. They have a retail section! I picked up their Udupi Kashaya powder to take home, and it’s excellent. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a genuine taste of coastal Karnataka.

We planned a get together at Udupi Ruchi for a breakfast meet and it was truly memorable. Their menu had a good selection of food from the Udupi region, the place was formerly a residence which now is converted into a restaurant, their is 90’s nostalgia on the restaurant and is located in the heart of the city. We tried the following: 1. Coconut milk ganji: This was a semisweet ganji made from coconut milk, it comes with a pickle on the side, would give this a try again sometime. 2. Moode: idli steamed in banana leaf and came with a topping of ghee and coconut chutney, we asked for a side of sambar and it was good 3. Mangalore buns: Buns were fluffy and soft and tasted sweet. This comes with coconut chutney and vegetable sagu. Would definitely try this again. 4. Neer Dose: Neer dose was subtle and tasted amazing with mango rasayana and kai bella, it also comes with coconut chutney. 5. Jackfruit appa: This dish was good and came with a spoon of honey. It is worth a try. We also tried dishes like bisibelebath, button idly and vade.

A hidden gem in Bangalore. I’ve been in Bangalore for the past 10 days, and Udupi Ruchi has quickly become my go-to spot – I’ve visited 3-4 times already, and each visit has been a delight! Every dish and drink I’ve tried has been outstanding: fresh, flavorful, and perfectly authentic. The staff couldn’t be nicer – super friendly, especially with my child, making it a welcoming family hangout. The overall vibe is cozy and vibrant, with that perfect cafe energy that keeps you coming back. If you’re craving top-notch Udupi food in a relaxed setting, this is the place. Highly recommend – don’t miss it!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Highly Recommended! I recently visited this restaurant and absolutely loved every single dish I tried. If you enjoy authentic Udupi and Malnad style food, this place is a MUST VISIT- I tried: Jackfruit Gatti Heerekayi Dosa Akki Haalbai Paddu Coconut Milk Ganji Mango Seekarane with Chapathi Kashaya Bargosa Hayagreeva Every item tasted fresh, traditional, and packed with homemade flavours. The taste took me straight to our hometown-style cooking. The hospitality was great and the food quality is outstanding. I strongly recommend this place to anyone who loves authentic Karnataka cuisine, especially Udupi and Malnad dishes. 👍

Cafe Udupi Ruchi is a highly recommended restaurant. The food options are very good. The food quality, presentation, and delivery is great and hygienic. I shared a lunch with my family following which we decided to host a simple lunch party at the same restaurant. The lunch party was also coordinated beautifully, hospitality and food was once again perfect. For an excellent authentic Karnataka food experience, I highly recommend this place. An added aspect is that several of the dishes served here are home recipes.

If you are looking for Udupi mangalorean dishes then this place is definitely for you. A pure veg cafe serving best of Udupi mangalorean dishes. We started with mango and jackfruit rasayana which was super tasty. Then we had jackfruit appa, gatti, pathrode, Pundi gatti, coconut ganji & all of them turned out very delicious. A true heaven for coastal people. Their cafe specials are a must try. Do not miss on their Malpe rolls which is yum. On their fusion menu burgosa was interesting. Finally ending with a strong coffee I totally loved the place. Perfect to visit with friends and family.

It was my first visit and I must say impressive. Will be visiting it a few times and shall update this write up. 1) Good team. 2) Good choice of food. 3) Nice ambience n place aura, I must say. 4) Reasonable taste. But it is a quick eatery and not gourmet. So expectations should be such and thus the score is still 5.

We didn't plan to have a dinner the evening we visited this Cafe. Since my younger one wanted to have Chapathi we searched for some pure veg restaurants that serves Chapathi in Jaya Nagar around 7 PM in the evening. Google suggested this and we went there. I personally didn't even looked up the photos as this was found by my wife. Hence looking at the name, Udupi Ruchi, I was expecting a normal Udupi grand type ambiance and food. I got pleasantly disappointed. A contemporary cafe diner is what I found with different kind seating arrangements including jula, normal wooden 90s style dining chairs and village style street facing paved seats. The menu is limited and strictly south indian, to be precise more Karnataka naatti style. Some specials along with fusion are also part of the menu. The specials I've attached the photo. We ordered Chapathi for our son that were looking more like ones we make in our home with atta. Served with Chole and house special coconut chutney. This coconut chutney is NOT something you find in other Udupi grands. Made out of sweet fresh cocnuts with mild green chillies and with a lavish sping of mustard tadka. The sweetness of the coconut will be prominent when you taste it. Then we ordered Jackfruit Gatti, that is served with honey. The Jackfruit wrapped jaggery based rice flour cake rolled inside plantain leaf and steamed to perfect. Though there was three different kind of sweetness manifested by Jackfruit, Jaggery and the honey, the dish is a well balanced delicacy. Another dish we ordered was an Idly Manchurian which was done perfect. The Moode Idly was very good. The cherry on the ice was the Jackfruit Rasayana. Wow... What a sweet shake made out of Jackfruit, jaggery and coconut milk. Undoubtedly the most satisfying dinner I had in recent times. And as I said in the beginning we didn't plan for a dinner and the menu got us. And it didn't feel heavy after eating which proves the quality of the cooking. Not to mention, the service was very fast. In my view, a must try.

We had a wonderful vegetarian breakfast at Cafe Udapi Ruchi! The food was fresh, flavorful, and served hot — just the way it should be to start the day. The dosas and idlis were perfectly made, and the chutneys tasted authentic and delicious. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the overall atmosphere was calm and inviting. A great spot for anyone looking to enjoy a satisfying South Indian breakfast in a pleasant setting!
