Sometimes we fall in trap of beauty ― Tara Palace (Marine drive) is amongst those properties, where you will be amazed to see the shines and when you start exploring the days of stay, one will understand the underlying "covered" undulances.

My family and three other relatives of mine stayed here for 4 odd days, 8th November 2023 till 12th mid day, occupying 4 rooms.

The stay in Puri is not new for me ― be it a Corporate stay or a family trip, being in DVC holiday home near 'Macher bajar' or in Vijoya international near the 'new' Golden beach ― it was my 5th trip since 1996.

On the day of entry the stay was started by a welcome greeting by a gathering of good sized caterpillars!! Anticipating this as an 'incidental observation' it was reported to the reception, understood that they were never knowing this! So, how was the room kept prepared without a proper chexking by the 'management'! Then a person came with pest control spray which worked for that moment and was seen again after an hour.

This was visible in both the balconies of room 209 and 210. We had 4 senior citizen members in those two rooms where the menace of caterpillars continued and we could not use the balconies. We could see those each day, numbers eventually were found to be more when AC was operated. Repeated complaint and request for changing the room was not quiet well attended.

By virtue of corporate culture, the 'well' dressed employees in suits were 'following' their 'company's' rule by inches and millimeters. But each day we had to request for changing the towels or providing the complimentary water bottles ― possibly their management is not quiet interested in changing those regularly!

The 1st lunch on 8th November, was so timely that after a 45 minutes delay, a promised '10minute' delivery of simple lunch menu of Dal, rice, alu vaja and macher jhol for 7 members, was served! Once the complaint was registered, someone well dressed was attending us. We could see, only two boy and girl were attending all the tables ― shortage of manpower! We chose to eate outside nearby ― cheap, clean and healthy.

Though there were strict rule of paying a 'discounted' price if you are overstaying for 5hrs after check out time to board a train― in which you are not entitled to get a bottle of water as you have not booked the room for full day, as they say, 'it's company rule'! Sometimes these rules of services are ONLY known to the front desk manager which are not percolated to the service persons.

Food quality and room cleanliness is mediocre― room charges are not at par for a non sea facing rooms. Stay not recommended.

I'd give it a one star due to misbehaviour of the owner.
During our stay the staff were warm and welcoming and friendly. Service was excellent and they do their best to keep guests happy and satisfied. Expect idli sambar for breakfast everyday. They do not have an in house restaurant.
It was on the last day of our stay that the owner asked me to hand over my phone to have a look at my booking through the Oyo app. However so, he did snoop around my phone and was browsing through my gallery. Moreover, when we confronted him he was about to run away from us. Extremely unexpected and uncouth behaviour from the management. Please do think twice before you even book rooms as we aren't sure how much they respect people's privacy.

​If you value your health, your safety, or your family’s well-being, do not book this hotel. I stayed here with my wife and 2-year-old daughter, and it was the most harrowing, repulsive experience of my life. This isn't just a "bad hotel"; it is a derelict, unsanitary dump that shouldn't be allowed to operate.
​The "Room from Hell":

​Biohazard Conditions: The ceiling fan was so thick with black grime that it literally dripped a sticky, unidentified liquid onto us when turned on.

​Infested Furniture: The bed was covered in filth, and the wood was rotting with visible fungus. Asking a family to sleep in these conditions is a disgrace.

​Broken Facilities: We paid for AC; we got a hot, stuffy box. The unit was dead, and the bathroom was so revoltingly dirty I felt cleaner staying out of it.

​Dangerous Lack of Service:
​Unsafe Water: After begging for water, the staff handed me two previously opened, unsealed bottles. Providing unsealed water is a massive health risk. We were forced to order basic drinking water from Blinkit because the hotel’s "supply" was untrustworthy and dangerous.

​Total Negligence: I had to go to reception to beg for basic necessities like soap and towels. Even then, the staff was too lazy to bring them to the room, handing them over the counter like they were doing me a favor.

​Pathetic Management:
​The "Sleeping" Staff: The receptionist couldn't even be bothered to sit up or stand while talking to me. He addressed us while lying down in a sleeping posture—complete and utter lack of professionalism.

​Security Failure: They directed me to a parking spot that led to a confrontation with angry locals. When I was being harassed, the hotel staff cowardly retreated and offered zero support. They threw their own guest under the bus.

​Conclusion: Staying here was a nightmare. I felt helpless because I had my toddler with me, otherwise, I would have walked out within five minutes. You are literally better off sleeping on the sidewalk than inside this fungus-infested trap.

​STAY AWAY. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

i am hotel book 24 person @ 8 room by oyo  and full payment done 15 days before and after 15 day check in  time hotel manager not allowed check in  full payment not received from oye  and condition all cash deposit after check in . i am safer all payment done but not check in . total family member so i am check in cash deposit. so very problem this hotel first hotel manager totally rough language so believer very wrost same other staff. all  hotel image new open at the time but actually not ok hotel for family . all time AC off and water problem same geyser not on . Room condition is very poor as per the room rent. There are couple of issues in the room like water leakage, no exhaust system in bathroom, TV and AC are not working.

Staffs will behave very good during stay after that they are very rude.

The owner and management is full fraud and they are demanding extra money from me during checkout(saying that the quotation which they had given during check-in was wrong). And on refusing to give the money, they are giving life-threatening threats to me and my family and saying that they will not allow us to go to home.

So, please refrain booking this hotel in Puri.

I booked three rooms in this hotel through OYO app. right after booking I recieved a call from the hotel manager saying that please cancel this booking from OYO, I will give you same number of rooms in same price upon cash payment, otherwise I will not give you room and you will loose your money also paid through OYO app. So I cancelled the booking, next morning when I reached the hotel he asked me more money, I denied so he started verbal fighting with me. Try and avoid going with family unless youbcam manage a very basic set up with extremely messy setup. The staff is through the roof and doesn't bother much about the service. Don't get along with OYO management creating issues for the guests. Consider a stay here only if it's an emergency

I booked this hotel from OYO Rooms. When we reached, Manager of this hotel denied our stay saying that he has a lot of money pending from OYO. Then he told us to cancel the booking. After that, he told us to pay the same amount in cash and he will allow us to stay. We paid in Cash. When we entered into the room, it was smelly and full of Mosquitoes. Their service was the Wrost in the world. His managed used to say that he is an engineer from ITER and he didn't even know the spelling of Thursday.Now you can imagine. NEVER EVER GO TO THIS HOTEL OTHERWISE YOU WILL SEE THE WROST NIGHTMARE OF YOUR LIFE....

Do not book this hotel through even OYO. They are faking their Rating on OYO. I have been there for one night and the property owner forcefully taken my cell phone for seeing the booking id and submitted the rating and feedback on my oyo app. Particularly bathroom was very dirty. They did not provide the correct information of transportation for going to Konark and other places. They were convincing to book their expensive cab. You might be seeing the rating of this hotel as 4.6/5  at OYO but it is fake. Be aware of these types of frauds. Even OYO did not take any action against them after complaining at OYO.

There was no water too in the washroom.

But frankly telling this property is not even good to visit with any prostitute. Rooms are smelling heavily, linens dirty stained and unwashed. Owner is a liar theype of person, you cannot trust them. Hotel man came into my room with master key when I went out just 15 minutes to buy some fruits. I borrowed mobile charger but the owner told me he needed it. If so, he should ask me to return before I went out (it was just 15 minutes!!!), otherwise he should wait till I would come back.|I cannot believe what happened under this civilization, the owner looked smart...|He didn’t apologized me at first, just saying  “I needed and I forgot to tell you so that I used master key to get it back. “||The other points also appeared, website says Wi-Fi is available but actually “No Wi-Fi”, the room is very dirty with dust and so many dots and dirt on bed cover, pillow and bed sheet.  Bath towel didn’t be prepared before I requested them. At night,  the hotelman who can only speak Oriya, showed me the message board “I cannot speak English, please ask someone else” but NO ONE there without him. ||I was suffering for 2 night but when I know the owner came into my room without permission, I quickly checked out this hotel.|

Everything else ie the room , ambience , location is good except for the fact that the staff is not trained for good quality customer service . On arrival ,had to get the bed sheets changed because of stains . When it started raining , they switched off the air-conditioning citing weird reasons . On inquiry regarding breakfast , they say tea is not included ???. Small touch points but enough to screw up overall experience. Till the time they raise their game , won't recommended this one .||PS : Had the hotel changed to another one in the vicinity through oyo . Not worth the buck
