Visit Railway Bridge 

RAILWAY BRIDGE is a photographer's paradise. A photographer or an aspiring photographer should not miss out on this Railway Bridge Manipal. Railway bridge is built on the Suvarna river. The place gives out very good vibes. This is one of the most visited places in Manipal. You should definitely not miss out on this one. 

Visit the Kemmannu Hanging Bridge

The Hanging Bridge, as you might have guessed it, is a suspension bridge which connects Padukudru to Thimmannakudru villages (near Kemmannu) over the meandering backwaters of the river Suvarna and the Arabian Sea. Kemmannu - Bengre is a small village in Udupi district which lies on the west coast of Karnataka along the river Suvarna. It is the most beautiful bridge in Manipal. 

Relish the Waves on Delta Beach

It is rightly said, nature never did betray a soul that truly loved her. Standing true to this statement is a backwater. A boat ride through the backwater pool of Kemmannu Padutonse is a photographer’s heaven, a traveller’s paradise and nature lover’s dream destination!  It is an exceptional sight to watch the sea and its backwater lie opposite to each other, but more surprises await us as we take a boat ride along the 40 islands through Padutonse.

End Point

This is one of the most mesmerizing places in Manipal city. It's a beautiful centre of attraction for nature buffs, located at the top of a hill and looks out over the valley along with a resplendent view of the surroundings. You can get enchanted by the view of Swarna River flowing in the valley below the hill. The viewpoint overlooks the Suvarna river surrounded by a lot of greenery. 

 

 

Hasta Shilpa Heritage Village

Hasta Shilpa Heritage Village at Manipal in the coastal region of India's Karnataka state is a multi-dimensional cultural project which aims to restore and conserve the nation's cultural wealth in the form of traditional buildings and objects of art, craft and other artefacts of aesthetic interest. There are around eight museums that showcase the ancient culture and heritage of Manipal like conventional arts, paintings, crafts, etc. Nestled humbly in an inconspicuous nook in the city of Manipal, lies a hamlet that stands a quiet bastion to the brilliant architecture of an all but forgotten age. 

Planetarium

After the Nehru Planetarium in Bangalore, it is considered to be the second planetarium in Karnataka which is sprawled over an area of 3000 sq. ft. Being the part of the Manipal Heritage Park, it was dedicated to Dr. T. M. A. Pai. Informative planetarium especially the kids will have fun along with an incredible view of the galaxy. The main aim of this planetarium is to raise awareness about astronomy. This is the place from where one can stare at the stars in the daytime also.

Kapu Beach

KAPU/KAUP BEACH is also one of the pristine beaches around Manipal. It has a lighthouse accessible to the public. The view from the top of the lighthouse is very peaceful. Photographers love this beach. The lighthouse, built by British in 1901, is located on the shores of Arabian Sea. It has guided thousands of ships for years.

Manipal Lake

The lake is 400 m in diameter. Located in the middle of the town, it is a scenic tourist spot. The lake was formed due to the removal of clay soil from the area which was used by tile factories in order to make tiles. The lake is a popular tourist attraction and offers boating facilities as well. It is one of the most beautiful places in the town.

 

 

How To Reach Manipal

By Air: The nearest airdrome is Mangalore International Airport, formerly known as Bajpe Airport (66.9 Km) which takes one and a half hour to reach Manipal. This airport is well connected with other major cities like Chennai, Delhi, Raipur, Bangalore, and many more.

By Rail: The nearest railhead is Udupi Railway Station, which is approx. 5 km away from Manipal.
