What is "CrossFit"?

CrossFit, the newest trend in the fitness industry is a community based program designed to improve one's physical and cardiovascular fitness through intense workout sessions in an encouraging environment. The CrossFit "boxes" (that's what they call their gyms) are filled with people engaging in healthy competition by motivating each other.

What are the main elements of CrossFit Training?

It incorporates elements of weightlifting, gymnastics, aerobic exercises and callisthenics. With at just 45 minutes to 1 hour long, everyone moves at their own pace, without any pressure whatsoever. 

A typical CrossFit workout session includes warm-up, WOD (Workout Of The Day) which the trainers prescribe to the participants every day, Strength/Skill training which focus on challenging the body to master one particular skill through exercises like squats, jacks, jump rope, squats, push-ups, lunges, pull-ups.
